Set during the Tang Dynasty, The Robbers tells the story of two robbers' adventures in a seemingly peaceful Bitter Bamboo Village, where they encounter a beautiful woman, a group of soldiers and a village head scheming to kill the duo. Hu Jun will play the arrow-shooting Xue Shisan and Jiang Wu will portray swordsman Chen Liu.

The Robbers was one of the projects in last year's China Film Pitch and Catch (CFPC) at Shanghai International Film Festival and the winner of CFPC's prize for having the most market potential. Shanghai Film Group and Stellar Megamedia came on board after the project's recognition at SIFF which initiated by Infotainment China.

Leon had been a firefighter for years and saved lives from 16 times cruel fire. He grew up with his father as a projectionist and studied painting in south of China. After been working in TV for 10 years, he choose a wartime romance as his 1st feature theme as he used to be a big fan for the war films.

"Led by a milquetoast Party secretary, the burgers of a remote southern village take on the ruling mafia family in "Trouble Makers," a rambunctious, hugely enjoyable black comedy with a social edge. Solo debut by writer-helmer Cao Baoping, who co-directed "Absolute Emotion" five years ago, looks to be an audience-pleasing click on the fest circuit and with some extra mileage in niche distribution."

"It's a fine example of the kind of accessible, quality movies that many Mainland helmers are making but which rarely find slots in Western fests transfixed by "underground" or Euro-arty directors."

Cold Flame is Cool!

Apr.2008.With 100 prints <The Cold Flame> will be released cross China by leveraging the emerging star Zhang Hanyu's glamor.

Jun'2007. As the 1st week of the  final prints done  <The Cold Flame> is right away nominated  in Shanghai Intl Film Festival Asian Talent Competition in coming June.  Congratulation to Mr. Leon Shupeng Yang for his 1st feature with such attention from the festivals.

"This movie's subject is similar to Zhang Yimou's "Not One Less" but with a different perspective and heavier tone. The story is about a 12yr old girl, Xiaoyan, who lives in one of China's poorest provinces. Xiaoyan's family does not have enough money to provide her to continue schooling. Also, most of the girls in her age have already stopped going to school and ready to be married off. However, Xiaoyan, eager for knowledge, wishes to continue learning and worked hard to earn her tuition all by herself for the coming semester. It's quite heartbreaking watching this film as Xiaoyan struggle throughout the movie trying to pay for her tuition and knowing there are thousands of kids like her in China suffering the safe fate. The 90 min documentary portrays the dramatic life of a Chinese woman, who has very complicated life experience as an orphan, a communist soldier, a singer and a Christian Musician, spending her whole life seeking faith. There 're a lot of questions and conflicts in this life story. During Xu Mu’s different life stages, she experienced many big waves of society in China up and down.
   
      One of the directors, Zhao Tianyu is the film character Xu Mu’s younger son. By recording the stories happened in his own family, he tried to find out the truth behind the faith ; the relationship between truth and faith by his mother and family members. What are they looking for in their faith? Is faith a power to help them to face the truth of it just a place to avoid their true life?

One of the men sees the wedding between the other man and Xie Chunhua taking place amid the sea of plastic flowers Is it purely imagination or just another pathetic reality?

China'04. It's a suspense-fantasy –drama of Chinese internet café culture, based on real events.

Qiu Dong (Gao Feng) works in a fish store and is preparing for his wedding, but his passion is playing interactive role-playing games in an internet café in downtown Wuhang, central China . He becomes obsessed with his fantasy identity in the game as a swordsman trying to ascend to the ‘last level' and avenge a mysterious bride dressed in white. To the point that he fails to return home, abandons his job, then his fiancés, then any pre-tense of living in the ‘ outside world'. During an astonishing 60 straight days of inhabiting the internet café, his role playing fantasies spill into his waking life. The film alternates between scenes in his fantasy world and vivid vignettes played out in the semi-underground internet café society: a runaway youth is confronted by his parents; an anonymous internet lover tracks down his shocked beloved; cops try to bust the place for staying open illegally past midnight. In the end, it's really not so clear where ‘reality' ends and ‘fantasy' begins.
